Sonia Blue Sonia Blue was named principal of Mattawoman Middle School in 2015. In 2016, she was Charles County Principal of the Year. Prior to serving as principal at Mattawoman, Blue served as principal of Matthew Henson Middle School for four years. She began her employment with Charles County Public Schools as a vice principal in 2006 and is an educator with more than 20 years of experience. Prior to accepting employment in Charles County, Ms. Blue worked for Prince Georges County Public Schools and D.C. Public Schools. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from Morgan State University and a Master of Arts in curriculum and instruction from McDaniel College. |

Portia Parker Portia Parker is a dedicated educator with over 15 years of experience in education. Prior to joining Charles County Public Schools, Ms. Parker worked for Elizabeth City-Pasquotank Public Schools, Nash-Rocky Mount Public Schools, and Camden County Schools; all of which are located in North Carolina. As a former math teacher, she has taught students from seventh to twelfth grades across many different sections of math content. Ms. Parker has coached high school and middle school basketball, as well as middle school softball and has supervised several clubs in her various schools. Ms. Parker holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics with a Concentration in Applied Mathematics, and a Minor in Computer Science, and a Master of Science in Mathematics Education both from Elizabeth City State University in Elizabeth City North Carolina. |
